Passport and Visa for Hungary
A passport valid for Hungary and for at least 2.5 years is necessary.
Students coming from EU and EEA countries and holders of passports issued by countries which are granted visa-free travel to Hungary under bilateral agreements (http://konzuliszolgalat.kormany.hu/visa-waiver-agreements) do not need a student visa, but have to apply for a registration card within 90 days after their arrival.
The accepted non-EU students have to apply for a student visa. The requirements will be listed in the Acceptance Letter issued by the Faculty.
Assistance Offered upon Arrival
The Faculty of Veterinary Science and our service provider College International welcome applicants wishing to study in Hungary. Students admitted get all the necessary help and support to settle down, get adjusted to their new life and become successful students.
Without an official address in Hungary the Residence Permit can not be obtained.
An accommodation service -- provided by College International -- is available to help students find a suitable place to live and provide advice and assistance about the rental process (firstname.lastname@example.org, www.budapesthousingservice.com).
A full coverage basic health insurance for Hungary is a prerequisite for registration at the Faculty of Veterinary Science. A special insurance for students is offered for approx. EUR 150,-/semester by the Union Insurance Co. which includes an English-language call centre, GP-service and treatment at the Polyclinics and Clinics of Semmelweis University. You will find details in the letter of acceptance.
Please visit www.univet.hu for a list of recommended textbooks. It is the student's responsibility to have all the required textbooks.
