Animal welfare and animal protection are compulsory parts of veterinary courses
Starting this year animal protection has become a compulsory subject in veterinary courses at University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest in the Hungarian, English and German curriculum, and a new postgraduate training will begin in 2017.

We are deeply saddened to announce that on February 2, 2016, Dr. Tamás Tuboly (1962-2016), Candidate of Veterinary Science, Professor, Vice Dean tragically passed away. His funeral will be arranged later.

Dr. László Fodor, professor, head of department of the Department of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, received the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary.

Dr. Géza Szita, retired professor of the Department of Food Hygiene, was awarded a total of four medals in 2013 at international invention competitions.

Memorial tablet for János M. Mészáros unveiled in Mocsa
The memorial tablet for János M. Mészáros, DVM (1929-2009), senior lecturer of the Department of Pathology and Forensic Veterinary Medicine was unveiled in his native village, Mocsa, on the building housing the local history collection.
