Invitation to veterinary workshop: A day of learning and practical insight

Dear veterinary students at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Budapest,

We are excited to invite you to a workshop hosted by AniCura. This event promises to be a valuable opportunity for aspiring veterinarians to gain practical insights and hands-on experience.

Agenda:

  • 10:15-10:30 – Introduction to Mars Veterinary Health & AniCura

  • 11:00-12:30 – Recognizing the signs of animal abuse and what to do about them

  • 14:00-14:15 – AniCura Veterinary Graduate Programme

This day promises a deep dive into the world of veterinary practice, featuring an expert-led session covering new aspects of the profession. If you are looking to enhance your skills, this workshop offers a unique chance to learn and engage.

You will meet us there

Sophia Fachmann, Regional Medical Partner Northrhine-Westfalia, Germany

Born and raised in Hungary, Sophia studied veterinary medicine in Budapest and graduated in 2011. After several years in different clinics and practices, she became an expert veterinary advisory with the pet food chain company Fressnapf. She joined AniCura in May 2024 as Regional Medical Partner. She’s currently enrolled at the Maples Centre for Forensic Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida. Her main interests are forensic science, exotic animals, especially fish and animal welfare.

Sophia lives in Düsseldorf with her partner and two dogs, Coco and Mochi. She loves nature, hiking and crocheting.

 

Marie Deutsch, Employer Branding Specialist Germany

As Employer Branding Specialist for AniCura Germany, Marie has a broad understanding of what AniCura has to offer as an employer in Germany. Meet her at our booth to learn more about your career opportunities, learning & development, working conditions, and specific opportunities to join or get to know AniCura Germany (e.g. the paid Internship Program, or Career Days).

Having considered to study veterinary medicine and then chosen something else, Marie loves shadowing vets and nurses in our hospitals and the fact she can use her background in Business Administration to shape the future of veterinary care. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, art and – of course – cuddling pets.

 

Katarina Karlsson, Employer Reputation & Early Talent Manager

Katarina Karlsson is an experienced HR professional with a strong background in employer branding, recruitment, and talent acquisition. With a Master’s degree in animal science from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Katarina has a passion for the veterinary industry, where she works to shape AniCura’s employer brand and attract top talent across multiple markets.

Katarina joined AniCura in 2021, where she has led several strategic initiatives, including optimizing recruitment processes and systems like Workday. She is particularly focused on early talent programs, developing strategies to engage university students and foster long-term relationships with emerging talent.
