{"id":72868,"date":"2018-10-13T16:28:52","date_gmt":"2018-10-13T14:28:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/univet.hu\/veterinary-physiology\/letoltheto-anyagok\/"},"modified":"2025-02-04T12:32:15","modified_gmt":"2025-02-04T11:32:15","slug":"requirements","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/univet.hu\/ebt\/en\/ebt\/division-of-physiology\/veterinary-physiology\/requirements\/","title":{"rendered":"Requirements"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>How to finish Physiology?<\/strong><\/h3> <p>A semester is accepted if the student fulfills\u00a0<strong>both the lab and the point system<\/strong>\u00a0requirements (explained in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vetphysiol.hu\/vetphys\/eng\/physio_midterms.php\">Midterms<\/a> page) .<\/p> <p>The requirements of a semester can only be fulfilled\u00a0<strong>during the given semester<\/strong>\u00a0according to the announced schedule. No other chances are\u00a0available to complete missing obligations after the examination period starts. In order to fulfill the requirements of\u00a0non-completed semester, student will have to sign up for that semester in physiology again.<\/p> <p>All the 5 labs have to be\u00a0<strong>successfully completed<\/strong>\u00a0by the end of the semester (before the examination period starts). See\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vetphysiol.hu\/vetphys\/eng\/physio_practicals.php\">completing labs<\/a>.<\/p> <h2><\/h2> <h2>Grading system and signiture<\/h2> <h3><strong>First semester<\/strong><\/h3> <p>At the\u00a0<strong>end of the first semester\u00a0<\/strong>students receive a grade based on their points collected. Points can be collected during the semester with mid-term test and on the labs. Maximum 20 points can be collected by each mid-term and maximum 1 point by each lab.<\/p> <p>The next table shows the grades as a function of collected points.<\/p> <table> <tbody> <tr> <td><strong>Percent<\/strong><\/td> <td><strong>max. 60*<\/strong><\/td> <td><strong>max. 65**<\/strong><\/td> <td><strong>Grade<\/strong><\/td> <\/tr> <tr> <td>0 % &#8211; 50 %<\/td> <td>0-30<\/td> <td>0-32<\/td> <td>not accepted<\/td> <\/tr> <tr> <td>above 50 %<\/td> <td>31-<\/td> <td>33-<\/td> <td>accepted<\/td> <\/tr> <tr> <td>top 10 %<\/td> <td><\/td> <td><\/td> <td>excellent<\/td> <\/tr> <\/tbody> <\/table> <p>*: A student with lab exemption might collect maximum 60 points.<br \/> **: A student without exemptions can collect maximum 65 points.<\/p> <p><em>As an example, that student, who is exempted neither from labs nor from mid-terms can collect maximum 65 (3\u00d720 + 5\u00d71) points.<\/em><\/p> <p>The student fulfills the &#8220;point system requirements&#8221;, if he or she\u00a0<strong>collected more the 50 %<\/strong>\u00a0of the possible points and does not have any mid-term tests with\u00a0<strong>6 points<\/strong>\u00a0or less.<\/p> <p><strong>Not fulfilling<\/strong>\u00a0the laboratory requirements will result in a\u00a0<strong>&#8220;not accepted&#8221; grade<\/strong>.<\/p> <h3><strong>Second semester<\/strong><\/h3> <p>Not fulfilling either the lab or the point system requirements will result in a\u00a0<strong>&#8220;not accepted&#8221; grade<\/strong>.\u00a0Grades of the second semester is based on the results of the final exam.<\/p> <h2><\/h2> <h2><strong>Qualification for the final exam<\/strong><\/h2> <p>Physiology ends with a\u00a0<strong>final exam<\/strong>.<\/p> <ul> <li><strong>To sit\u00a0the final exam, students must\u00a0fulfill\u00a0the lab and point system requirements in both semesters<\/strong>.<\/li> <li>Students, who have fulfilled only the lab requirements, and have\u00a0<strong>over 50 % of point collected as an average of the two semesters and have not got more that 2 mid-terms below 7 points might sit for a final exam with an extended test<\/strong><\/li> <\/ul> <div><em><strong>Please note that the extended entrance test is not easy.<\/strong> The department provides this option for students who &#8211; due to\u00a0different reasons &#8211; had a weak semester, but made it up with a stronger one,. With this option, these students can\u00a0correct their cumulative score and qualify for the Final Exam. This is not a penalty but a different option for the qualification. Nevertheless, for your own good,\u00a0<strong>aim the\u00a0Final Exam without an extended test.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/div> <h2><\/h2> <h2><strong>Retaking a semester<\/strong><\/h2> <p>In order to collect more points in physiology, students are allowed to\u00a0retake the midterms. In this case, the lab requirements is already accepted.<\/p> <p>A student will be exempted from lectures and mid-terms, if he or she signs up only\u00a0for\u00a0<strong>taking the physiology labs again<\/strong>.<\/p> <p>If a student signs up for a semester again to redo the labs or the mid-terms,\u00a0<strong>all the lab results or points of the not-completed semester will be erased, respectively.<\/strong>\u00a0Not completing, consequently retaking any part of physiology course might involve some\u00a0<strong>financial consequences<\/strong>(i.e. repetition fee). For detail please contact the Students&#8217; Secretariat.<\/p> <p>The student fulfills the &#8220;point system requirements&#8221;, if he or she\u00a0<strong>collected more the 50 %<\/strong>\u00a0of the possible points and does not have any mid-term tests with\u00a0<strong>6 points<\/strong>\u00a0or less.<\/p> <h3><strong>Certificate<\/strong><\/h3> <p>The department\u00a0<strong>issues no certificate<\/strong>\u00a0of completed studies in physiology.
