Professor of Surgery and Obstetrics.
He established modern animal surgery in the country and developed several new surgical procedures. With the introduction of asepsis, narcosis, and anaesthesia he opened the way for operations on the chest and abdominal organs. His surgery textbooks were the first ones on the subject in Hungarian veterinary literature. His horse therapies gained him national and international fame since his name had a high reputation on all stud farms and horse sports circles of Europe.
Following his career as a professor, he became Director General of the National Horse Breeding Department of the Ministry of Agriculture. He had a leading role in the advancement of horse breeding in Hungary.
