In his scientific research he was primarily dealing with the pathological diagnostics of infectious diseases. Later his attention turned towards oncology; he verified the inoculative nature of fowl leucosis and cattle papillomatosis and also the viral origin of feline panleucopenia.
As prorector, and later as dean, he was actively participating in the leadership of this institution.
