Dear Alumna/Alumnus,
Below we would like to share with you our latest and most important news and moments from the vibrant life of the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest (UNIVET Budapest).
ALUMNI Reunions at UNIVET Budapest
With the support of UNIVET our Alumni Office is happy to organise the 10th Reunion for those Alumni Members who graduated in 2009.
The celebration is held at UNIVET Campus on 23rd November 2019 at Nádaskay Hall. If you graduated 10 years ago our invitation card will be in your mailbox in a couple of days. Meanwhile, if you would like to join, please register HERE.
By organizing the 10th Class Reunion, we would like to bring together our graduated students at their alma mater and encourage their professional cooperation. The venue, the catering, and some entertainment will be covered by the University itself.
If you want more information about our Alumni Reunions, please write to Ms Nóra Kerekes at our Alumni Office to the following e-mail address: [Click to see email].
LATEST NEWS AND EVENTS FROM UNIVET BUDAPEST
Octoberfest at UNIVET Budapest
It was 30 years ago when the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest launched its veterinary education in German. As the first stage to celebrate this wonderful anniversary, we are happy to create our event called the „1st UNIVET Budapest Octoberfest”.
Freshers’ Week for international and Hungarian first-year students
This year the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest organized a joint Freshers’ Week for international and Hungarian first-year students for the first time. This week our new students had the chance to take part in even more exciting activities and programs.
Within the frame of Freshers’ Week, we organized the 1st International Freshmen Day, held at the University Educational Farm, where we launched the 2019/2020 school year with clinic and farm visits, followed by fun activities and games as well.
Open Day at UNIVET Budapest
In each year we show our university campus to dozens of prospective international students who visit Budapest to get a better feel of our university before they decide to apply to us. To accomplish this increased demand for campus visits and admission info sessions, we have decided to organize an Open Day on November 21st in order to make the most of the experience for our prospective applicants.
Ox-roasting at UNIVET Budapest
One just cannot say goodbye to September without having an ox-roasting at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest. This year we also arranged a surprise concert for our students.
Three years ago, when the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest regained its independence, to celebrate, we launched our own ox-roasting picnic. By the afternoon the oxen were already roasted crispy and ready to crown the day for the students and university employees. The program was not only about having a bite, as everyone was free to join to take part in thrilling games and activities.

Researcher’s Night at UNIVET Budapest
The Researcher’s Night is one of the most important events to promote science in Hungary to a wider audience, where research institutes, universities and laboratory visits open their doors for a night and welcome everyone interested. Just like last year, the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest joined this program. More than 500 seats were announced this year for lectures, and the interest has reached its high point: all the auditoriums were full, overbooked even, which shows that veterinary medicine is still a profession followed by a never-ending curiosity by our visitors.
