Dr. M\u00e1rton Bal\u00e1zs Battay has been the Secretary General of the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest since 2020. Prior to that, he worked as the Rector’s Office of the University from 2016. Its task is to manage the central administrative organization of the university, as well as to coordinate the legal, international, communication, quality, security and IT areas. In addition, he participates in the preparation of university decision-making and the organization of the operation of the Senate.
He graduated as a lawyer from the University of P\u00e9cs and as a lawyer and economist from the University of Szeged. He defended his PhD degree in 2020 at Szent Istv\u00e1n University in the field of management and organizational sciences. He also has a degree in equestrian teaching (hipology) and a master’s degree in game management.
He has been teaching at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest since 2016, where he holds courses in Hungarian, English and German, among others, on food safety, animal protection and hunting law. His research and professional interests include hunting management, game management and agricultural law. He also participates in doctoral training as a co-supervisor in these areas.
From 2025, as the managing director of Vet-Inno TTC Kft., he will contribute to the development of innovation and technology transfer activities at the university.
His work was recognized by the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest with the Pro Universitate Golden Ring in 2021.
He is the secretary of the Panel of Judicial Experts in Agricultural Economics and a member of the Committee of Legal and Administrative Experts of the Hungarian Rectors’ Conference. He is the vice-president of the Metropolitan and Pest County Regional Organizations of the National Hungarian Hunting Chamber and the Equestrian, Environmental Protection and Nature Conservation Section of the National Civil Guard Association.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
