Please, select the category below which applies to your circumstances.<\/strong><\/p> <p><a href=\"http:\/\/international.pte.hu\/sites\/international.pte.hu\/files\/documents\/information_on_the_changes_of_the_rules_of_the_foreign_students_residence_in_hungary_effective_from_january_1_2018.pdf\"><strong>Information on the changes in the rules of the foreign students\u2019 residence in Hungary effective from January 1, 2018<\/strong><\/a><\/p> <p><strong>CITIZENS OF THE EU\/EEA MEMBERS STATES<\/strong><\/p> <p>Citizens of EU\/EEA (EEA: member states of the EU and Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, and Lichtenstein)\u00a0may travel to Hungary without a long-term study visa. However, they need to obtain a registration card for the duration of the studies in Hungary. For more information please visit the relevant section of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/univet.hu\/en\/admission\/after-acceptance\/visa-and-residence-permit\"><strong>\u2018Visa and Residence Permit\u2019 information<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p> <p><strong>CITIZENS OF COUNTRIES OUTSIDE THE EEA<\/strong><\/p> <p>If you are a student from the non-European Economic Area (non-EEA), you need to apply for a\u00a0<strong>long-term &#8220;D&#8221; type visa<\/strong>\u00a0for study purposes at the Hungarian Consulate of your country of residence. Please note that this type of visa is a special national single entry visa that enables its holder to apply for a residence permit for study purposes after enrolling in a university in Hungary. This visa, contrary to the Schengen (tourist) visa, can only be obtained from the Hungarian consulates listed\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kormany.hu\/en\/ministry-of-foreign-affairs-and-trade\/missions\">here<\/a>.<\/p> <p>If you require a visa, please ask for a visa appointment as soon as possible (right after you are notified about your acceptance), because in some cases the process can take up to three months, or even longer for visa applications with missing information.<br \/> <strong>The following documents are needed for the application for a\u00a0<u>residence permit<\/u>:<\/strong><\/p> <ol> <li>a wholly and legibly completed, signed \u201cresidence permit\u201d\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/bmbah.hu\/images\/formanyomtatvanyok-teljes\/ENG\/pdf\/Residence%20Permit%20for%20the%20Purpose%20of%20Studies%20010716%20new2.pdf\">application form<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li> <li>valid passport (the validity of which has to exceed that of the requested visa by at least 3 months)<\/li> <li>one passport size photos (not older than 3 months)<\/li> <li>confirmation of Acceptance from the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest (Letter of Admission)<\/li> <li>visa fee: ~60 EUR<\/li> <li>declaring a real, exact address in Hungary (the document certifying accommodation in a student hostel or the tenancy contract)<\/li> <li>documents certifying subsistence in Hungary (bank account statement; or the declaration of the parents that they assume coverage of all costs of the stay in Hungary; or the document certifying the scholarship)<\/li> <li>attestation of the school that the applicant is exempt from the payment of school fees or that he\/she has already paid the tuition fees.<\/li> <li>travel insurance (A travel insurance is required to cover medical expenses, trip cancellation, lost luggage, flight accidents and other losses incurred while traveling; it can usually be arranged at the time of the booking of a trip and should be valid until the beginning of the study program) or equal financial means<\/li> <\/ol> <p>After you arrive in Budapest, you can\u00a0<strong>arrange your registration card (EEA) or residence permit (non-EEA)<\/strong>\u00a0at the Immigration and Asylum Office (in Hungarian: Bev\u00e1ndorl\u00e1si \u00e9s Menek\u00fclt\u00fcgyi Hivatal, abbreviated as BMH).<br \/> <strong>Address:<\/strong><br \/> 1135 Budapest, District XIII., Szegedi \u00fat 35-37., ground floor (Twin Office Center Office-Block)<\/p> <p><strong>Opening Hours:<br \/> Monday\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>08:30 &#8211; 13:00<br \/> <strong>Tuesday\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong>13:00 &#8211; 17:00<br \/> <strong>Wednesday\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>08:30 &#8211; 12:00<br \/> <strong>Thursday\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>08:30 &#8211; 13:00<br \/> <strong>Friday\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>08:30 &#8211; 12:00<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Depending on your citizenship you may or may not need to apply for a visa to enter Hungary.
