Students who wish to apply to the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship need to apply through\u00a0www.studyinhungary.hu<\/a> between December and January each year.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p> For further details regarding the scholarship please contact the [Click to see email]<\/a> email address.<\/p> <\/p> The University\u00a0of Veterinary Medicine Budapest seeks students with appropriate academic qualifications, good command of English, and strong motivation to study and practice veterinary medicine. There is an entrance examination that students need to pass in order to be admitted. The entrance examination aims to test (in oral and written form, online or personal) competency in the English language<\/strong>, also in relation to the academic subjects, which are Biology and Chemistry<\/strong>.<\/p> <\/p> Applications are accepted on a rolling basis from 1st<\/sup>\u00a0January until 30th<\/sup> June (in cases of vacancies later). Documents need to be uploaded to\u00a0apply.univet.hu<\/a> \u00a0with the help of your local representative (for the list of representatives please click here<\/a>) or in case you do not have one, directly by the applicant.<\/p> Applications are considered to be complete only if the following two criteria are fulfilled:<\/p> <\/p> (All documents need to be uploaded in English or in an authorized English translation).<\/em><\/strong><\/p> Secondary School Leaving Certification<\/strong> from an accredited secondary school. The school leaving certificate is a necessary prerequisite for starting studies. Those who are in the last year of their secondary school studies when applying can also apply but only with the obligation to present their certifications before enrolment.<\/p> Curriculum Vitae<\/strong> in English<\/p> Medical Certificate<\/strong> \u2013 Certification of physical and mental capability of the applicant issued by a general practitioner. You can find the sample of the certificate HERE.<\/a><\/p> Copy of Passport<\/strong> \/ ID with your personal data.<\/p> Letters of Recommendation<\/strong> are welcome. Letters in English from secondary school principal or science instructors are preferred. Particularly valuable are letters of recommendation from graduates of our university.<\/p> Short motivation letter<\/strong> \u2013\u00a0a few words about why you wish to become a veterinarian and what motivates you to study in Hungary.<\/p> + 1 Transcript of records<\/strong> \u2013 only for applicants with relevant preliminary studies, for example: French BCPST program, academic background in natural sciences, etc. (\u201ctransfer students\u201d \u2013 see below)<\/p> <\/p> All application documents should be uploaded either through the local representative of the applicant or by the applicants themselves to the\u00a0apply.univet.hu<\/a>\u00a0website.<\/p> <\/p> After the University reviews the submitted application documents, it determines whether the applicant appears to be qualified to take the entrance exam or not. After acceptance of the application, the applicant chooses an entrance exam date (either through the local representative or by emailing to\u00a0[Click to see email]<\/a>)<\/p> The examination will\u00a0test competency in the English language<\/strong> in general and also in\u00a0relation to the academic subjects, which are Biology\u00a0and Chemistry<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p> Entrance exam structure<\/strong><\/p> Examinations are arranged online between March and July. Further rounds of entrance examinations\u00a0will be organized in August depending on\u00a0the number of vacancies.<\/p> Exam registrations are only considered to be official if the EUR 250 exam fee<\/a> is paid directly through\u00a0apply.univet.hu<\/a><\/p> Evaluation<\/strong><\/p> The applicants must reach at least 50% of the written exam in order to take part in the oral exam (at least 30% Biology, 30% Chemistry, 50% English and the average of the Biology and Chemistry exams should not be less than 50%). The evaluation of the Entrance Examinations – both written and oral – will\u00a0be made by the Admission Board on the spot of\u00a0the competitive entrance exam or within 10 days. Decisions about transfer applications<\/em> are\u00a0made on a rolling basis throughout the application period. Once admitted, the Students’ Secretariat\u00a0will provide you with all the necessary documents\u00a0for the student visa and loan application in your\u00a0home country. The admission is valid only to begin\u00a0studies in the academic year you applied for.<\/p> Exemptions from the entrance examination<\/strong><\/p> In addition to\u00a0transfers from other universities<\/strong>\u00a0exemptions the basic study section of French veterinary schools (\u201cClasse Preparatoire BCPST<\/strong>\u201d) entitles the applicant to be accepted without a written entrance examination. An oral exam, however, is mandatory before final acceptance for all applicants.<\/p> <\/p> The University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest,\u00a0as a member of the international academic community, recognizes studies at other accredited\u00a0Universities from any part of the world particularly\u00a0if these included natural sciences. Accordingly,\u00a0applicants who have completed a section\u00a0of the curriculum at another University<\/strong> in natural science might be admitted<\/strong> upon the study of the submitted material (transcripts and references) without a written examination.<\/strong>\u00a0An online oral exam, however, is mandatory before final acceptance for all applicants.<\/p> Subjects of previous studies identical or similar\u00a0to those contained by our veterinary curriculum\u00a0can be applied for acceptance<\/em>. Preliminary evaluation\u00a0is made also on the basis of submitted\u00a0copies. However, original syllabi of your previous\/\u00a0present studies indicating the content of\u00a0the course, the number of classes and credits\u00a0earned has to be sent by your school directly to\u00a0the Student\u2019s Secretariat in Budapest within 3\u00a0months. If a sufficient number of exemptions<\/em> are approved, the time of studies can be shortened and \u2013 if prerequisites are met \u2013 a start in February may also be possible. Please note: prior to entering the 3rd year of the Budapest-curriculum all exams from the previous two years have to be passed!
