There is an entrance examination that students need to pass in order to be admitted. The entrance examination aims to test (in oral and written form, online or personal) competency in the English language, also in relation to the academic subjects, which are Biology and Chemistry.<\/p> <p>&nbsp;<\/p> <h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Application Requirements<\/h3> <p>Applications are accepted on a rolling basis from 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0January until 30<sup>th<\/sup> June (in cases of vacancies later). The school leaving certificate is a necessary prerequisite for starting studies. Those who are in the last year of their secondary school studies when applying can also apply but only with the obligation to present their certifications before enrolment.<\/p> <p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Curriculum Vitae<\/strong> in English<\/p> <p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Medical Certificate<\/strong> \u2013 Certification of physical and mental capability of the applicant issued by a general practitioner. Letters in English from secondary school principal or science instructors are preferred. Particularly valuable are letters of recommendation from graduates of our university.<\/p> <p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Short motivation letter<\/strong> \u2013\u00a0a few words about why you wish to become a veterinarian and what motivates you to study in Hungary.<\/p> <p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">+ 1 <strong>Transcript of records<\/strong> \u2013 only for applicants with relevant preliminary studies, for example: IB program, Cambridge diploma, French BCPST program, academic background in natural sciences, etc. (\u201ctransfer students\u201d \u2013 see below)<\/p> <p>&nbsp;<\/p> <p>All application documents should be uploaded either through the local representative of the applicant or by the applicants themselves to the <a href=\"http:\/\/apply.univet.hu\">apply.univet.hu<\/a> website.<\/p> <p>&nbsp;<\/p> <h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Entrance Examination<\/h3> <p>After the University reviews the submitted application documents, it determines whether the applicant appears to be qualified to take the entrance exam or not. The online application system sends a notification to the applicant in each case. After acceptance of the application, the applicant choses an entrance exam date (either through the local representative or in the online application system).<\/p> <p>The examination will\u00a0test competency in the English language in general and also in\u00a0relation to the academic subjects, which are <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/univet.hu\/en\/admission\/application-and-admission-requirements\/entrance-examination-topics\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-replaced=\"true\">Biology\u00a0and Chemistry<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p> <p><strong>Entrance exam structure<\/strong><\/p> <ul> <li>Written exam \u2013 simple and multiple choice questions (50%): <ul> <li>Biology<\/li> <li>Chemistry<\/li> <li>General English and academic terminology<\/li> <\/ul> <\/li> <li>Oral interview (50%): <ul> <li>Motivation of the applicant<\/li> <li>Discussion about the student\u2019s academic background<\/li> <li>Questions in Biology and Chemistry<\/li> <li>All other topics that are relevant to form an informed decision<\/li> <\/ul> <\/li> <\/ul> <p>Examinations are arranged worldwide and online between March and July. The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/univet.hu\/en\/admission\/application-and-admission-requirements\/entrance-exam-dates-and-locations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-replaced=\"true\">place and exact\u00a0dates of the examinations<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0are available on our website. Further rounds of entrance examinations\u00a0will be organized in August depending on\u00a0the number of vacancies.<\/p> <p>Exam registrations are only considered to be official if the<a href=\"https:\/\/univet.hu\/en\/education\/admission\/fees-and-costs\/\" data-replaced=\"true\"> EUR 250 exam fee<\/a> is paid either to the applicant&#8217;s local representative or directly through apply.univet.hu.<\/p> <p><strong>Evaluation<\/strong><\/p> <p>The applicants must reach at least 50% of the written exam in order to take part in the oral exam (at least 30% Biology, 30% Chemistry, 50% English and the average of the Biology and Chemistry exams should not be less than 50%). The evaluation of the Entrance Examinations &#8211; both written and oral &#8211; will\u00a0be made by the Admission Board on the spot of\u00a0the competitive entrance exam or within 10 days. Decisions about <em>transfer applications<\/em> are\u00a0made on a rolling basis throughout the application period. Once admitted, the Students&#8217; Secretariat\u00a0will provide you all necessary documents\u00a0for the student visa and loan application in your\u00a0home country. The admission is valid only to begin\u00a0studies in the academic year you applied for.<\/p> <p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Exemptions from the entrance examination<\/strong><\/p> <p>In addition to<strong>\u00a0transfers from other universities<\/strong>\u00a0exemption from the entrance examination can be obtained if an\u00a0<strong>equivalent of the British A-level certificate<\/strong>\u00a0can be provided with high scores in Biology and Chemistry. If only one of these subjects has been completed\u00a0satisfactorily, an entrance examination from the other subject only, is possible. Moreover, the basic study section of French veterinary schools (\u201c<strong>Classe Preparatoire BCPST<\/strong>\u201d) also entitles the applicant to be accepted without an entrance examination.<\/p> <p>&nbsp;<\/p> <h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Transfer from other Universities<\/h3> <p>The University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest,\u00a0as a member of the international academic community\u00a0recognizes studies at other accredited\u00a0Universities from any part of the world particularly\u00a0if these included natural sciences. Accordingly,\u00a0applicants who have completed <strong>a section\u00a0of the curriculum at another University<\/strong> in any\u00a0field of science <strong>might be admitted<\/strong> upon the\u00a0study of the submitted material (transcripts and\u00a0references) <strong>without an entrance examination<\/strong>!\u00a0Subjects of previous studies identical or similar\u00a0to those contained by our veterinary curriculum\u00a0<em>can be applied for acceptance<\/em>. Preliminary evaluation\u00a0is made also on the basis of submitted\u00a0copies. However, original syllabi of your previous\/\u00a0present studies indicating the content of\u00a0the course, the number of classes and credits\u00a0earned has to be sent by your school directly to\u00a0the Student\u2019s Secretariat in Budapest within 3\u00a0months. If a sufficient number of <em>exemptions<\/em> are\u00a0approved, the time of studies can be shortened\u00a0and \u2013 if prerequisites are met \u2013 a start in February\u00a0may also be possible. Please note: prior to\u00a0entering the 3rd year of the Budapest-curriculum\u00a0all exams from the previous two years have to be\u00a0passed!
