For histopathologic examination: the adequate size of specimen should be placed into 8-10% buffered formalin solution and in a bottle with wide aperture. This is an absolute necessity for a “lege artis” examination and diagnosis. In every case, a properly filled request form should be attached to the specimen (downloadable at “Services” page) – without the form we cannot provide a report. Receipt of the specimens is at operating hours at the Department (Monday to Thursday 8am to 3 pm; Fridays at 8am to 1pm) or they can be sent by post. We provide a histopathologic report within 2 weeks.
For diagnostic necropsy: proper storage (required: cooled to 0-4°C) and transport of the carcass is an absolute necessity.
