BACKGROUND:<\/strong><\/p>

The Department started its work as the Digital Food Institute (DFI) on April 1, 2020 at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Budapest, which is one of the most important places for the training of food safety professionals in Hungary. The team integrates food chain safety data analysis and research along the whole food chain and takes networking in this area to a new level. DFI aims to be an internationally recognized hub of experts and researchers in the field of food chain safety data analysis.<\/p>

The focus of the research, development and innovation activities is to participate in national and international projects aiming at the safety of the food chain, and thus, due to the profile of the Institute, it mainly targets the following research areas related to food chain safety:<\/p>
