Introduction<\/p>
<\/p>
Dr. K\u00e1roly Erd\u00e9lyi received his diploma from the University of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. After graduation, he started working at the National Institute of Animal Health, where he acquired a wide range of methodological knowledge, primarily related to the diagnostic examinations of wild animals. In addition to the application of pathology, microbiology, parasitology and molecular diagnostics in wildlife health, he also used this extensive knowledge as the Head of Quality Management of the successor N\u00c9BIH \u00c1DI (2009-2015). In addition, he headed the Laboratory of Mammalian, Game and Poultry Diseases of N\u00c9BIH \u00c1DI for ten years (2011-2021) and performed wildlife health diagnostics.<\/p>
He obtained his MSc degree in Game biology and wildlife management from the G\u00f6d\u00f6ll\u0151 University of Agricultural Sciences in 1999, and defended his doctoral degree in 2010 at Szent Istv\u00e1n University with the title \u201cFibropapillomatosis of Roe Deer (Capreolus capreolus) in Hungary\u201d.<\/p>
Also in 2010, he became a member of the European College of Zoological Medicine and an EBVS™ European Veterinary Specialist in Wildlife Population Health.<\/p>
The University of Veterinary Medicine awarded him the title of Honorary University Professor in 2019.<\/p>
Since June 2021, he has been a senior research fellow at the Veterinary Research Institute and since February 2023, he is leading the Disease Ecology and Wildlife Health research group of the HUN-REN Veterinary Medical Research Institute.<\/p>
He works as a research associate at the Department of Epidemiology and Microbiology of the University of Veterinary Medicine from September 1, 2023.<\/p>
