The University has signed a cooperation agreement with the B\u00e1bolna National Stud.<\/strong><\/p>

The University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest and the B\u00e1bolna National Stud have signed a cooperation agreement. This agreement is a significant step towards further diversifying veterinary education. The cooperation aims to provide our students with a unique opportunity to gain direct insight into the care and management of racehorses, thereby enriching their practical knowledge.<\/p>

As part of the new cooperation, our students will participate in organized practical training at the Thoroughbred Stud in Di\u00f3spuszta, where local mentors will hold special sessions on racehorse-related knowledge. The agreement fits well with the unique cooperation between the University and Kincsem Park, where the University\u2019s staff conducts welfare screening examinations for gallop races.<\/p>

We are particularly pleased that the Stud has symbolically\u2014and free of charge\u2014offered a racehorse already in training to the University\u2019s students.<\/strong> The three-year-old bay stallion named Melarris, born in Di\u00f3spuszta will compete under the name and colours of the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest in Hungarian and international races. After prior consultation and registration, our students can visit Melarris following the races.<\/p>

The event was opened with a welcome speech by \u00c1d\u00e1m Szotyori Nagy, the managing director of Kincsem Park, followed by Prof. Dr. P\u00e9ter S\u00f3tonyi expressing his gratitude to Bence F\u00f6ldes, the manager of the B\u00e1bolna National Stud, and highlighting the significance of this cooperation for the University:<\/p>

\u201cHungarian and international students can get closer to Hungarian equestrian traditions, learn about the life and preparation of racehorses, and their special maintenance and health needs.\u201d<\/p>

The University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest is Hungary\u2019s only and Europe\u2019s third oldest veterinary training institution with centuries-old traditions in veterinary education. Our institution’s primary mission is animal welfare, alongside educational and research activities, and to prepare our students for a wide variety of veterinary career paths through practical experiences.<\/p>

We hope we can cheer together for Melarris’s successes, contributing to the enhancement of the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest’s reputation.<\/p> <\/div> <\/div> \t\t
