The spring semester wouldn\u2019t be complete without Equus Days. This grand event, possibly the most significant in students’ lives at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, has been a cherished tradition since 1975. During this special week, students take control of the university\u2019s downtown campus and fill it with vibrant and exciting programs.<\/p>
This year, the organisers once again welcomed the university community with a countless variety of activities: sports matches, lectures, water games, the \u201cBos Major\u201d election, cake contest, Puding, Equus parties, and of course, the unmissable parade that brought colour to the week-long festival.<\/p>
A highlight of the event series is the International Day<\/strong><\/a>, when students from nearly 70 countries present their national delicacies along the park\u2019s path. But the diverse communities offer more than just gastronomic treats\u2014they share their customs, traditions, and often their country\u2019s signature drinks. Amid the colourful and bustling scene, organisers keep the crowd engaged with games, competitions, and traditional folk dancing.<\/p> Another key tradition of Equus Days is the parade<\/strong>. In 2025, just like every year, the university\u2019s rector, Prof. Dr. P\u00e9ter S\u00f3tonyi, led the carriage through the Istv\u00e1n Street gate, escorted by motorcycle police and hussars.
