A strong professional partnership has developed between the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest and one of China\u2019s leading agricultural universities, Huazhong Agricultural University, College of Veterinary Medicine. For the second year in a row, Dr. J\u00e1nos G\u00e1l, head of our Department of Exotic Animal, Wildlife, Fish and Bee Medicine, traveled to China during the spring semester to build on their ongoing educational and research collaboration with the partner institution.<\/p>

This year, Dr. G\u00e1l spent nearly two weeks at the university in Wuhan, where he delivered lectures to students on the health and care of reptiles and insects. During his stay, a one-day professional conference was organised, where local veterinarians attended lectures on reptile health and other exotic animal topics.<\/p>

Dr. G\u00e1l also joined the team at the partner university\u2019s exotic animal clinic for several days, participating in clinical consultations and treating reptile and exotic bird cases alongside local veterinarians. Building on this collaboration, the two institutions are planning to continue offering similar two-week, intensive programs in the future, including conferences and continuing education events.<\/p>

Thanks to modern information technology and digital tools, clinical consultations between the two universities now continue year-round.<\/p>

With this initiative, our department has established a solid professional bridge to Asia in the fields of reptile, exotic bird, and insect health, helping to strengthen international connections and promote knowledge exchange in exotic animal medicine.<\/p>
