In March, we launched our new event series called „Vet Events – Science and culture at the University of Veterinary Medicine”<\/strong><\/em>. In the frame of this series every month there will be various entertaining, musical and cultural programs for the students and university employee as well.<\/p>

The first event of this series started with an interesting talk-show – “How to get to know your professors better<\/em>?” with an ambitious goal is to invite every head of departments in the future to introduce oneself, where they can talk about their lives, ambitions, professional success, and they can share experiences. Our first guest was Dr. Tibor Bartha <\/strong>deputy rector and the head of Physiology and Biochemistry Department and his wife, Dr. Míra Mándoki<\/strong>, head of Pathology Department. Their presentation filled with pictures of their childhood was received with great applause and joy.<\/p>

The talk-show was followed by Márk Járai<\/strong> concert, a young and talented musician who is known for the hip-hop band, „Halott Pénz”. Márk had left medical university one and a half year before graduation to focus on his musical career.<\/p>

It’s not always easy to decide which profession is best for us when we are young. But this summer the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest showed that becoming a veterinarian can be a good choice. With a one-week program, we showed for a bunch of young titans what university studies are like as a vet student and life as a vet. We are sure by the end of the summer school our guests will have a better understanding of what vets do.
