Furthermore, a new animal protection postgraduate training will begin in 2017 &ndash; stated rector dr. P&eacute;ter S&oacute;tonyi in a press conference.<\/strong><\/p> <p style=\"text-align:center\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/univet.hu\/files\/news\/120\/images\/20170131_PEL_3506.jpg\" data-replaced=\"true\" style=\"height:401px; width:600px\" \/><\/strong><\/p> <p>Animal welfare and animal protection was always a substantial part of the course, but from this year the subject is compulsory for every veterinary student at the university, thereby raising the course&rsquo;s standards. During the 11 semesters students receive theoretical training and hands-on experiences, they meet several real medical issues and participate in many surgeries before graduation.<\/p> <p>For a long time, the university has&nbsp;been committed to animal welfare and protection, and &ndash; as a milestone of this matter &ndash; from 2017 students can apply to a specialized postgraduate training.<\/p> <\/p><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&rsquo;s not always easy to decide which profession is best for us when we are young. But this summer the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest showed that becoming a veterinarian can be a good choice. With a one-week program, we showed for a bunch of young titans what university studies are like as a vet student and life as a vet. We are sure by the end of the summer school our guests will have a better understanding of what vets do.
