The centaur represents the veterinarian&rsquo;s work and veterinary service. Endre Kardev&aacute;n, state secretary, chief veterinarian of the veterinary service, M&aacute;rton Oravecz, president of the Nationals Food Chain Safety Office, P&eacute;ter S&oacute;tonyi, dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Science, SZIU, and the sculptor, Attila Boros held speeches. The new statue can be found between the students&rsquo; centre and the building of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology.<\/p> <p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Kentaur\" src=\"http:\/\/www.univet.hu\/media\/406092\/kentaur.jpg\" data-replaced=\"true\" style=\"height:298px; width:448px\" \/><\/p> <p>125 outstanding professionals were awarded the miniature of the centaur statue on 15th October 2013 at the conference entitled The future of food chain safety held by the Ministry of Rural Development and the National Food Chain Safety Office. P&eacute;ter S&oacute;tonyi, dean, Tibor Bartha, R&oacute;bert Farkas, Tibor N&eacute;meth, Tam&aacute;s Tuboly, vice deans, and L&aacute;szl&oacute; Fodor, the previous dean of the faculty were also among those awarded.<\/p> <\/p><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&rsquo;s not always easy to decide which profession is best for us when we are young. But this summer the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest showed that becoming a veterinarian can be a good choice. With a one-week program, we showed for a bunch of young titans what university studies are like as a vet student and life as a vet. We are sure by the end of the summer school our guests will have a better understanding of what vets do.
