The 45th session of the FAO\/WHO Codex Alimentarius Committee on Methods of Analysis and Sampling (CCMAS) has been successfully concluded, once again hosted in Budapest. The event served as a high-level international professional forum for experts working in the fields of food analysis and sampling.<\/p>

Hungary plays a key role in the work of the Committee. Dr. Attila Nagy, Chair of CCMAS – who is also Director at N\u00c9BIH and Head of Laboratory at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest – oversees activities related to the development and harmonisation of laboratory analytical methods.<\/p>

As Vice-Chair of the Committee, Dr. Zsuzsa Farkas, Head of Department at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, leads and coordinates the development of standards, guidelines, and other professional documents, primarily in the area of sampling.<\/p>

During the Budapest session, significant progress was achieved on several key professional issues, including the international harmonisation of food analytical methods and the standardisation of sampling procedures. The adopted recommendations contribute to strengthening global food safety and ensuring reliable laboratory testing.<\/p>

For the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, it is of particular importance that its faculty members and experts play such a prominent role in international standard-setting, further enhancing the institution\u2019s scientific and professional recognition.<\/p> \t\t
