\u201eShared past, shared future \u2013 together for veterinary medicine.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> The International Alumni Office organized its second International Alumni Reunion & Conference during the first weekend of October (2\u20133 October 2026). Similarly to the first reunion, the event was a great success, providing international alumni with an opportunity to reconnect with old classmates, see how their alma mater has changed, and engage in professional exchange.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> On Saturday, university<\/span> teachers<\/span> and alumni of the University of Veterinary Medicine <\/span>Budapest shared presentations on their research and personal and professional journeys. The Director for International Relations, Prof. Tibor Bartha, presented the latest developments at the University, which was highly appreciated by alumni who graduated more than 26 years ago. Dr. Pawe\u0142 Suliga (Class of 2020) shared his research findings on digital histopathology in assessing porcine skeletal muscle health, while Dr. Mark Hedberg (Class of 2006) gave a presentation about his eventful career as a veterinarian. Dr. Adrienn Merc\u00e9desz Veres\u2019s lecture focused on antimicrobial resistance from a One Health perspective.<\/span> Following the professional presentations, the Alumni Excellence Awards Ceremony took place, where this year\u2019s Awards were presented in recognition of the recipients\u2019 outstanding work and achievements in the field of veterinary medicine.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> We offered our guests a generous rustic lunch, with the meat provided by D\u00f3ra Major, the Teaching Farm of the University of Veterinary Medicine. After the delicious lunch, we welcomed our participants to a reception at Equus Club, followed by the Alumni Party, which brought back many memories of unforgettable student parties.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> The event was a truly memorable gathering, and we look forward to welcoming members of the international alumni community back next year which is planned for the first weekend of October 2027.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> \t\t
The two-day event began on Friday with an informal reception at the Student Centre, where current students could meet and exchange ideas with alumni at thematic tables. The highlight of the evening was the wine tasting, moderated by Bortodoor, who made the event even more engaging with veterinary trivia. The winners received amazing prizes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
