In the fall of 2017, common thinking began on the need for trained, open-minded swine health and breeding professionals whose knowledge can meet today’s expectations. As a result, a three-semester long special college started at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest in March 2018 with 16 students. In each semester the participants covered 2-2 individual topics, at first examined them and then applied under the guidance of field leaders. Topics included the methods of disinfection and control of African swine fever, the calculation of plant rotations, the supervision and the special feeding requirements of different breeds, etc.<\/p>
