{"id":55109,"date":"2020-06-02T08:26:13","date_gmt":"2020-06-02T06:26:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/univet.hu\/?p=55109"},"modified":"2020-06-02T08:26:13","modified_gmt":"2020-06-02T06:26:13","slug":"remembering-our-heroes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/univet.hu\/en\/2020\/06\/remembering-our-heroes\/","title":{"rendered":"Remembering our Heroes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"emphasis\">&#8220;Where heroes are not forgotten, there will always be new ones.&#8221;<\/span><\/p> <p>On 29th of May 2020, the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, the Hungarian Veterinary Association and the Hungarian Veterinary Chamber held a ceremonial commemoration and wreath-laying ceremony in front of the memorials on the walls of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, the Department of Chemistry and the library. On Heroes\u2019 Day, we commemorate the Hungarian soldiers and civilians who, defended Hungary and died a heroic death in the battles of the last 1000 years.<\/p> <p>After listening to the Hymn, veterinary student Ariella Roxana Horv\u00e1th recited P\u00e1l Gyulai\u2019s poem The tomb of heroes, then Mih\u00e1ly Takar\u00f3, J\u00f3zsef Attila and Hungarian Heritage Prize-winning literary historian gave his speech.
