The transition will result in a much more flexible way of management and faster response to the changing conditions of the world. With the amendment of the law, in 2021 a significant salary increase is also expected at the university.<\/strong><\/p> <p>Our 233-year-old institution is unique in Hungary, it regained its independence on 1st of July 2016, and from the 1st of August 2020, it will be operated by the Marek J\u00f3zsef Foundation established by the Hungarian state. Instead of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, the Board of Trustees of the Foundation will be in charge. The assets of the Foundation will be provided by the Hungarian state, while the currently used infrastructure will become the property of the university.<\/p> <p><a href=\"https:\/\/univet.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/\u00e1o86.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-55185 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/univet.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/\u00e1o86-320x213.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"213\" srcset=\"https:\/\/univet.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/\u00e1o86-320x213.jpg 320w, https:\/\/univet.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/\u00e1o86-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/univet.hu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/\u00e1o86-960x640.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/a>Our educational structure remains unchanged, and the university offers the same number of state-funded places for Hungarian students as before. As a result of the changes, our international programs can gain more highlight, as it is known that the highest proportion of international students study at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest in Hungary (two-thirds of our students). With the introduction of the new practical semester, the University will provide 12 semesters of training in the ascending system, and we are announcing the undivided zoologist study program in Hungarian and English languages.<\/p> <p>Model change can lead to unique development, which \u2013 in addition to collaboration with research institutes and veterinary drug and vaccine manufacturers \u2013 is supported by the participation in basic and food safety research and exceptionally high rate of international education that provides excellent background.<\/p> <p>The transformation is also welcomed by the Hungarian Veterinary Chamber. Our University is not only an institution for students and people working here but also the Alma Mater of the Hungarian veterinarian society.<\/p> <p>On 28 May 2020, the XXXIV. Act of 2020 on the Marek J\u00f3zsef Foundation decides on the transfer of assets to the Marek J\u00f3zsef Foundation and the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest. In the legislation, the National Assembly calls on the Government to take the necessary measures on behalf of the Hungarian state to establish the Marek J\u00f3zsef Foundation in the form of a public trust.
