This year the long-awaited student event of the autumn semester at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, the Marek Days, took place between 21st and 24th of October.<\/strong><\/p>

During the series of events from Wednesday to Saturday, our students took over the university and dormitory area, where they organized sports programs, entertaining events and dance parties. Volleyball competitions, football and floorball matches focusing on sports performance towards the end of the week were replaced by less serious competitions such as beer pong, laser tag, pumpkin carving competition etc.<\/p>

Every year one of the most popular events is the so called Pudding for freshers, where three lecturers from the university present their \"\"<\/a>personal lives and careers in a casual style while the audience eats pudding. This year’s lecturers were Dr Anna Szilasi from the Department of Pathology, Dr Mih\u00e1ly Pilipecz from the Department of Chemistry and Dr \u00c1kos Jerzsele, Vice-Rector for Science and Research, Head of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a>In preparation for the winter as part of the Hungarian traditions, the highlight of the Marek Days is the pig slaughter and after that the sausage making and eating festival.<\/p>

The goal of the four-day event is to help freshers to integrate, bring together university students and lecturers to cheer and loosed up before the winter exam period starts.<\/p>
