The Poultry Product Council (BTT) and the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest (UVMB) have entered into a cooperation agreement to develop a strategy for biosecurity measures on poultry farms, monitor the biosecurity situation on poultry farms, and enhance the professional knowledge of veterinary students participating in undergraduate education in poultry herd health.<\/strong><\/p>

The Poultry Product Council, established in 1991, is the most important organization in the Hungarian poultry sector. It brings together companies involved in the production, processing, and distribution of poultry products (breeding and reproductive material, broilers, poultry meat, eggs, and processed poultry products).<\/p>

The council’s members include organizations engaged in poultry breeding, reproduction, incubation, production, and processing, as well as trading companies, cooperatives, and their professional associations involved in the wholesale, retail, export, and import of cut and processed poultry products.<\/p>

The operational professional responsibility for the collaboration lies with the Department of Animal Hygiene Herd Health and Mobile Clinic.<\/strong> This department carries out all strategic tasks on behalf of the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest. With a significant history of expertise in the health management of economically valuable livestock, the department has built extensive networks in recent years and achieved internationally recognized quality in poultry herd health activities. It has extensive experience not only in specific herd health management but also in non-specific disease prevention methods, including the field of biosecurity.<\/p>

The joint work will commence in March 2022. The common strategic tasks are as follows:<\/p>
