{"id":565,"date":"2025-07-10T12:01:57","date_gmt":"2025-07-10T10:01:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/univet.hu\/konyvtar\/about\/library-dogs\/"},"modified":"2025-07-10T21:27:52","modified_gmt":"2025-07-10T19:27:52","slug":"library-dogs","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/univet.hu\/konyvtar\/en\/about\/library-dogs\/","title":{"rendered":"Library and dogs"},"content":{"rendered":"<div> <div> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Dear Students!<\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Problems and complaints about animals brought into the library have increased in the past, and for this reason we have created a rule that clearly and precisely defines the relationship between certain spaces in the library and the animals.<\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Most of the complaints about the presence of animals in the library were legitimate remarks about hygiene, behavioral problems (barking, growling, sitting on furniture, etc.) or the increasing noise of the former quiet learning spaces.<b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>In accordance with the above-mentioned, from December 3, 2021, the library\u2019s reading and learning spaces will be divided into two separate units:\u00a0<\/b><\/p> <ul> <li><b>Building D \u2013 including the reading room, the group room, the foyers, corridors and the reception area on the ground floor \u2013 is not accessible to animals<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/li> <li><b>Equus Study Room in building D, however, is an animal-friendly place.\u00a0<\/b><\/li> <\/ul> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Please keep the above rules when visiting the library so that each student can find a suitable, supportive library environment for them.<\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">We would like to support the operation of Equus Study Room as an animal-friendly place with rules to help us live together which will soon be placed in the room.<\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.<\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Budapest, December 2, 2021<\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Bea Winkler and the library staff<\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" align=\"center\"><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Equus Study Room<\/span><\/b><\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">1. Students can use Equus Study Room for the purposes of silent group study sessions and recreation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">2. The room is a community area so you must observe the rules of appropriate social behaviour at all times.\u00a0<\/span><\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">3. Users of the study room must comply with the house rules.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" align=\"center\"><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">House rules for Equus Study Room\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">I. Rules of social behaviour<\/span><\/b><\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">a) Please do not disturb your fellow students by making phone calls or talking.\u00a0<\/span><\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">b) When you leave, please put your garbage in one of the garbage cans and leave the place in the condition you would like to find it.<\/span><\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">c) Do not take off your shoes in the room and do not put your feet\/shoes on the chairs\/tables.<\/span><\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">d) Do not consume smelly, aromatic food in the room.\u00a0<\/span><\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">\u00a0<b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">II. Dog rules<\/span><\/b><\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">a) Only properly socialized, human-friendly dogs are allowed in the room.\u00a0<\/span><\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">b) Do not feed or give drinks to your dog in the room.\u00a0<\/span><\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">c) Do not have your dog sit\/lie on the chairs, tables or sofas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">d) All dog waste must be placed in dog poop bags and thrown in the outdoor garbage cans (it is forbidden to put them in indoor bins, bathroom or toilet bins)!<\/span><\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">III. Personal belongings left in the room<\/span><\/b><\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">a) We are not responsible for your personal items left in the room.\u00a0<\/span><\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">b) Any items found on the tables etc. will be disposed of in the last week of each semester.\u00a0<\/span><\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">IV. Books and magazines placed in the room<\/span><\/b><\/p> <p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">a) Free copies of books, notes and magazines are available in Equus Study Room.
