Introduction<\/h2>

D\u00d3RA MAJOR<\/strong><\/h2>

The Experimental Farm of the University of Veterinary Medicine, Budapest is located in D\u00f3ra major<\/strong>, 34 km from Budapest. It is situated on the edge of the plain of Pest<\/strong>, near the town of \u00dcll\u0151 in the township of Vecs\u00e9s.<\/p>

History<\/h3>

D\u00f3ra major was named after S\u00e1ndor D\u00f3ra<\/strong>, who was an agronomist and a skeet shooting world champion.<\/p>

He received his agronomist diploma in 1926 at the University of Agriculture, Keszthely. He lived in Hungary until 1949, when he moved to San Remo and in 1964 returned to Hungary and settled down in his estate (D\u00f3ra major) near the town of \u00dcll\u0151.<\/p>

D\u00f3ra major became the experimental farm of the University in 1990, but it has a much longer history as a centre for livestock production.<\/p>
