Introduction
Dr. Ákos Jerzsele was born in Budapest and, after graduating from high school, was admitted to the Budapest University of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. He graduated summa cum laude in 2004 and immediately after receiving his degree, he became an employee of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology of the University from December 1, 2004. He earned his PhD in 2009 after defending his doctoral dissertation entitled “Comparative pharmacokinetics of amoxicillin-clavulanic acid in broiler chickens and turkeys and a study of bacterial susceptibility and stability”. In 2011, he graduated as a Clinical Veterinarian in Veterinary Medicine. For the past 14 years, he has been the supervisor of 30 dissertation and TDK students, many of whom have won “podium” positions at the Scientific Student Circle Conference. He was also the co-supervisor of a student who won a Pro Scientia award in the biological section at the OTDK. Since 2015, he has also participated in the work of the TDK Committee as a judge and committee member.
Main research areas:
- antibiotic resistance, antibiotic synergism
- pharmacokinetic / pharmacodynamic analyzes for antibiotics
- efficacy testing of antibiotic alternatives
- possibilities of damaging bacterial biofilms
- applications of nanotechnology systems in veterinary medicine
