Dr. Eszter Kaszab obtained her MSc degree in Biology with Molecular-, Immune- and Microbiology specizalization in 2016 from Eötvös Loránd University. She was awarded her PhD degree in 2021 by the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, where she conducted her virological research within the “Pathogen Discovery” research group at the Veterinary Medical Research Institute. Following the completion of her doctoral studies, she continued her work as a research fellow until 2024. Since 2024, she has been serving as a research fellow at the Department of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, where her work is carried out within the Sequencing Laboratory.
Her research is primarily focused on the advancement and application of high-throughput sequencing technologies (including Illumina, MGI, and Oxford Nanopore platforms), alongside the development of bioinformatics methodologies in the fields of bacterial and viral genomics and metagenomics. In addition, her work encompasses the design, implementation, and optimization of diagnostic systems.
