Our studies investigate the in vitro susceptibility of the unicellular parasites Tritrichomonas foetus (cat, cattle), Trichomonas gallinae (pigeon) and Trichomonas vaginae (human) to alternative treatments, compared to the efficacy of therapeutic agents.
Agents and alternatives tested:
- nitroimidazoles: metronidazole, ronidazole, tinidazole, secnidazole
- propolis extracts
- proton pump inhibitors: omeprazole, pantoprazole, rabeprazole, ezomeprazole, lanzoprazole
