The colleagues and students of the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest moved with candles and wreaths to the plaque of Zoltán Tatay on 21st October, to remember the veterinarian student who died as a hero during the 1956 revolution.
Zoltán Tatay gave his life to save a seriously injured compatriot on 24th October 1956. The participants of the memorial not only prised the hero student but all the victims and persecuted one of the retaliation.
During the memorial, the Tatay Zoltán medallion was passed out to Domonkos Farkas, who earned the honourable prize for his outstanding organizing work in the Student’s Section of The World Organization of Hungarian Veterinarians.
