A key topic of discussion was the ongoing foot-and-mouth disease outbreak, where nearly 150 volunteer students from the university are assisting the veterinary health authorities as part of an organized initiative.

Researchers from the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest recently conducted a study examining the factors behind this trend and exploring potential solutions to promote freshwater fish consumption.

On March 22, students began fieldwork at animal farms within the designated surveillance zones under the supervision of veterinary authorities. Their role is crucial in conducting secondary screening tests to help prevent further spread of the disease.

In early March 2025, the official application data for higher education admissions, which closed on February 15, was released. A record number of students have applied for the Hungarian-language veterinary medicine program at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest.

In recognition of his contributions to advancing national interests and enriching universal human values, Dr. Tibor Németh was awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit (Civil Division).

At the doctoral inauguration ceremonies of the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest on February 28, a total of 237 veterinary doctors—107 Hungarian and 130 English program graduates—received their diplomas.
