Main research areas

  • Harvesting technology and conservation of forages.
  • Improving the stability of the forage base in the context of climate change and increasing milk production results. This includes the cultivation and harvesting technologies, as well as the physiological effects, of intensive (arable) grass species; autumn-sown and early spring–harvested cereals (rye, triticale); and autumn and spring forage mixtures. Cultivation, harvesting technology, and feeding of drought-tolerant, modern annual BMR sorghum species and Sudan grass in cattle herds. The importance of double cropping in Hungary in the context of climate change. Forage climate strategy for extensive livestock systems (sheep and beef cattle).
  • NIR forage analytics. Introduction of new, modern parameters into practice in the field of forages: corn silage CSPS, peNDF, fiber digestibility (NDFd48 and dNDF48), indigestible fiber (iNDF240), hay quality evaluation (RFQ, RFV).
  • Nutrition of dairy cattle.
