Introduction

Dr. Róbert Farkas has been working at the Department of Parasitology and Zoology of ÁTE since 1982, of which he was the head of the department between 2001 and 2018. He teaches parasitology and bee health, as well as two optional subjects, in Hungarian and English. Continually contributes to veterinary and other professional training. From 2012 to 2016, dean of education and was vice chancellor. He established professional relationships with several domestic and international research centers and participated in domestic and international research. The number of his scientific publications is 225. He contributed to the writing of 17 book chapters in English and 2 in Hungarian. Between 2003 and 2006, he received a Széchenyi scholarship. The veterinarian is a diplomat of the European College of Parasitologists. His professional work was recognized with the commemorative medal of the Society of Hungarian Parasitologists in 2007, the Sándor Tolnai Award in 2012, and the Officer’s Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit in 2017.

Main research area:

Occurrence of pathogens transmitted by external parasites of veterinary importance, parasitic diseases of farm and companion animals.
