History of the Department

See the history of the Institute of Animal Breeding, Nutrition and Laboratory Animal Science.

The Department for Animal Breeding and Genetics as a unit within the Institute has been responsible for the teaching of two subjects, as Veterinary Genetics and Animal Breeding. Head of the department, László Zöldág professor and his staff put a special emphasis in veterinary education on teaching of hereditary disorders and genetic diseases of domestic animals.
