The department was formed in 1992 as the successor of the Department for Educational Technology. The curricula of our subjects have been refreshed and restructured several times during these years. Our first public computer room opened in 1997. Since 2006 we have had two computer rooms in which we teach Informatics, Biomathematics, and Biostatistics at the graduate and postgraduate levels.
From 2007 to 2011 the department hosted the animal health and ecology section of the HAS Research Group “Adaptation to climate change”.
