Course description
This subject presents the horses’ and the companion animals’ neuroendocrine mechanism in connection with the reproduction. It discribes the normal reproductive cycle, heat, the basic of artificial insemination, pregnancy and parturition of the mare and pathological divergencies of these periods. It is also about of the reproductive management of the breeding studs.
For small animals (dogs, cats) the subject is presented about the physiology of the oestrus cycle of the bitch, diagnostical methods for classifing the cycle, heat, artificial insemiantion, pregnancy and parturition, and basic of neonatology.

Evaluation description
If a student fulfill the requirements in connection with the lectures and write the mid-term tests successfully (≥60 %) the Department offers the grade of the midterm tests (mean) to practical grade. If a students does not accept this grade he or he has the opportunity to take a written exam containing all materials taught in this semester.
