Course description

Short description: this course is tailored to the needs of students in the German programme who are interested in clinical veterinary terminology in English. Students completing the course will be equipped with a wide range of technical terms in the field of veterinary medicine and will find it easier to continue their studies in the English programme if they wish to do so. Apart from enriching their vocabulary, students will practise listening and reading comprehension as well as speaking, with special emphasis on veterinarian-owner interactions.

Prerequisites: a good (at least B2 level) command of English

Evaluation description

Requirements: taking a mid-semester and a semester closing test

Other requirements: students can miss 4X45 minutes of classes, are required to actively take part in lessons and to do homework tasks and assignments on a regular basis.

Grading system:

5 (A): 90-100%

4 (B) 80-89%

3 (C): 70-79%

2 (D): 60-69%

1 (F): 0-59%
