Timing of the Academic Year 2022/23 (updated on 4th May 2022)

Winter-term 2022/23

Registration / Orientation for the 1^st international, English-language class: on Tuesday, 6^th September 2022, 12.00 (at noon) on campus in person. (for the German program: 7^th September)
Registration to higher semesters: from 8^th September (Thursday) till 22^nd September (Thursday) exclusively in NEPTUN, ONLINE. After 22^nd September you can register with a surcharge of EUR 100/week only, but latest by 30^th September (Friday);
Registration for the inactive status by 22^nd September (Thursday) – and no later even with late fee.

Please note (1): Indicated deadlines are NOT for starting payments, NOT for the arrival of your tuition fee at the bank – but for the registration at the Student’s Secretariat at campus.

Please note (2): registering for the subjects in Neptun and for the term with the registration sheet do count as registration (regarding tuition fee refund) and both administrative steps are required prior to the official semester start!

Please note (3): without being registered you are not entitled to attend classes and/or practicals. More than four weeks of absence (30%) in a term results in an automatic exclusion from the semester.

Deadline for withdrawal with (partial) tuition-refund: 30^th September 2022.

Students entering the 9^th curricular semester have to present their registration form for the thesis (so-called: Thesis announcement form or TDK application form) – with uploading them to Neptun.

Opening ceremony of Academic Year 236: 9^th September 2022, Friday, 10AM
Start of teaching: 12^th September 2022 (Monday)
Duration of teaching: 12^th September – 16^th December 2022
Freshmen’s programs: 8^th –16^th September 2022
Barbecue party on campus: 14^th September 2022, Wednesday
Enrollment Registration in Neptun for the semester AND for compulsory subjects: between 8^th September 2022. 10.00 AM (Thursday) – 16^th September 2022, 11.00 PM (Friday),
Registration in Neptun for the elective courses/subjects: between 9^th September 2022, 6.00 PM (Friday) – 16^th September 2022,11.00 PM (Friday)

Please note: in Neptun at first you need to register for the semester (2022/23/1) as active or inactive, then for the compulsory subjects and their theoretical + practical courses (both from 8^th September Thursday 10.00 AM), then the elective subjects (from 9^th September 6.00 PM)!

Exam period: 19-23/12/2022 and 02/01 –03/02/2023 (retakes from previous semesters from 1^st December 2022)

11^th semester students:

Duration of the 11^th (practical) semester: 29/08/2022 – 13/01/2023

(winter break: 19/12/2022 – 01/01/2023)

Deadline for submission of the thesis: 18^th November 2022
Exam period of the 11^th (practical) semester for blocks taken outside Hungary are scheduled for 16/01/2023-27/01/2023.
State exams (thesis defence): 30^th January 2023–3^rd February 2023

The delayed 11^th semester has to be started not later than 9^th January 2023; has to be finished the latest by 12^th May 2022. The thesis submission is due by 27^th March 2023, exams of the 11^th semester are scheduled for 15^th May 2023 – 26^thMay 2023; state exams (thesis defence) from 29^th May 2023.

Bank-Holidays:

-23^rd October 2021 (Sunday)

-30^th October + 1^st November 2021 (Tuesday). Instead of 31^st October (which is also a holiday), you have teaching on 15^th October 2022 Saturday (with a Monday schedule)

-24-25-26^th December 2022 (Saturday – Sunday – Monday)

-1^st January 2023 (Sunday)

Special occasions in the Aula maxima:

-Freshmen’s ball: 5^th November 2022, Saturday

-Students’ Scientific Conference (TDK): 16^th November 2022, Wednesday

Spring-term 2021/22

Registration to ALL YEARS exclusively in NEPTUN, ONLINE: from 8.00 AM on 3^rd February (Friday) 2023 till 11.00 PM on 17^th February (Thursday) exclusively in NEPTUN. After 17^th February 2023 you can register with a surcharge of EUR 100/week only, but latest by 28^th February 2023.
Registration for the inactive status by 17^th February 2023 – and later it is not possible, not even with late fee.

The study record book (“black book”) can be submitted in person or dropped to our letter box right after the exam period!.

Exam period: 22^nd May – 30^th June 2023 (for retake exams from previous semesters from 1^st May 2023)
