Timing of the Academic Year 2024/25

 

Winter-term 2024/25

• Autumn exam period 2024 prior to the 3^rd and 5^th curricular year: 26^th August (Monday) – 6^th September 2024 (Friday)
• Payment of the tuition fee of the fall-term is due between 10-20^th August 2024 (for all years, except the Freshmen), the prescribed tuition fee has to arrive at our account latest by 20^th August 2024!
• Registration / Orientation for the 1^st international, English-language class: on Wednesday, 4^th September 2024, at 12.00 (noon) on campus in person (for the German program: 5^th September, Thursday, 10.00). Administration or registration electronically: from 6^th September 2024 (Friday) 8.00 AM till 13^th September 2024 (Friday) 11.00 PM exclusively in NEPTUN, ONLINE (you will receive your Neptun-code at registration)
• Registration to higher semesters for active/inactive/passive status : from 6^th September 2024 (Friday) 8.00 AM till 13^th September 2024 (Friday) 11.00 PM exclusively in NEPTUN, ONLINE. After 13^th September you can register with a surcharge of EUR 100/week only, but latest by 30^th September (Monday); Those who have autumn exams (future 3^rd and 5^th year students), registration is possible without late fee by 30^th September!

Please note (1): Indicated deadlines are NOT for starting payments, NOT for the arrival of your tuition fee at the bank – but for the registration at the Student’s Secretariat at campus.

Please note (2): registering for the subjects in Neptun and for the term with the registration sheet do count as registration (regarding tuition fee refund) and both administrative steps are required prior to the official semester start!

Please note (3): without being registered you are not entitled to attend classes and/or practicals. More than four weeks of absence (30%) in a term results in an automatic exclusion from the semester.

• Registration in Neptun for the compulsory subjects: between 6^th September 2024. 8.00 AM (Friday) – 13^th September 2024, 11.00 PM (Friday),
• Registration in Neptun for the elective courses/subjects: between 7^th September 2024, 10.00 AM (Saturday) – 13^th September 2024,11.00 PM (Friday)

Please note: in Neptun at first you need to register for the semester (2024/25/1) as active, inactive or passive, then for the compulsory subjects and their theoretical + practical courses (both from 6^th September 2024), then the elective subjects (from 7^th September)!

• Deadline for withdrawal with (partial) tuition-refund: 30^th September 2024.

Students entering the 9^th curricular semester have to present their registration form for the thesis (so-called: Thesis announcement form or TDK application form) – with uploading them to Neptun.

 

• Opening ceremony of Academic Year 237: 6^th September 2024, Friday, 10AM
• Start of teaching: 9^th September 2024 (Monday)
• Duration of teaching: 9^th September – 13^h December 2024
• Freshmen’s programs: 9^th –15^th September 2024
• Barbecue party on campus: 12^th September 2024, (Rector’s break from 2.00 PM)
• Marek-Days: 14-19 October 2024
• Freshmen Ball: 9^th November 2024 (Saturday) in the Aula Maxima
• TDK (Students’ Research Circle) conference: 19^th November 2024 (Tuesday) in the Aula Maxima
• Exam period: 16-23/12/2024 and 02/01 –31/01/2025 (retakes from previous semesters from 1^st December 2024)

 

11^th semester students:

• Duration of the 11^th (practical) semester: 02/09/2024 – 17/01/2025 (winter break: 23/12/2024 – 03/01/2025)
• Deadline for uploading the thesis to Neptun: 29^th November 2024, for final submission of the bounded thesis: 13^th December 2024
• Exam period of the 11^th (practical) semester for blocks taken outside Hungary are scheduled for 20/01/2025-31/01/2025.
• State exams (thesis defence): between 3-7 February 2025
• Graduation ceremony: 28^th February (Friday) 2025, 14.30

 

Bank-Holidays:

23^rd October 2024 (Wednesday), 1^st November 2024 (Friday), 25-26^th December 2024 (Wednesday-Thursday), 1^st January 2025 (Wednesday). Teaching days dur to holidays: 7^th December and 14^th December 2024.

 

Spring-term 2024/25

• Registration to ALL YEARS for active, inactive or passive status exclusively in NEPTUN, ONLINE: from 8.00 AM on 31^st January 2025 (Friday) till 11.00 PM on 10^th February (Monday) exclusively in NEPTUN. After 10^th February 2024 you can register with a surcharge of EUR 100/week only, but latest by 28^th February 2025.

• The delayed 11^th semester (possible only abroad) has to be started not later than 6^th January 2025; has to be finished the latest by 9^th May 2025. The thesis upload to Neptun is due by 7^th March 2025, final thesis submission is due by 21^st March 2025, exams of the 11^th semester are scheduled for 12^th May 2025 – 23^rd May 2025; state exams (thesis defence) between 26^th – 30^th May 2025.

 

• Bank-Holidays:

– 14^th April 2025 – 21^st April 2025; Spring-break

– 1^st May 2025 (Thursday) International Workers’ Day

– 9^th June 2025 (Monday) Pentecost

Monday’s schedule is valid on Saturday, 26^th April 2025 (instead of 21^st April, Monday)

– Job Fair: 13^th February 2025, Thursday 10.00 AM

– Graduating ceremonies: 28^rd February 2025, 2.30 PM and 27^th June 2025, Friday (for the delayed 11^th semester students)

– Carreer Eve for International students:  19^th March 2025, Wednesday

– Student’s concert: 9^th April 2025, Wednesday, 5PM

– Equus-days: 22^nd – 26^th April 2025

– International day: 23^rd April 2025 (Wednesday)

– Farewell March of the 10^th Semester: 9^th May 2025, Friday, 10.00 AM (Rector’s break between 10-12.00)

 

• Extramural practicals

– after the 4^th curricular semester: Animal Breeding, (2 weeks) between 30^th June and 11^th July 2025

– after 6^th curricular semester: Animal Nutrition, (2 weeks) between 30^th June and 11^th July 2025

– after the 8^th curricular semester: Polyclinical practice, (4 weeks) between 30^th June and 5^th Sept. 2025
