András József Tóth is a qualified economist, with PhD in management and business administration sciences. His research interests are food safety management, food security and the applicability of rapid microbiological methods in food hygiene surveillance systems. Since 2011 he has been involved in several national and international research projects at the InDeRe Institute for Food System Research and Innovation Ltd.

From April 2021, he is a part-time assistant professor at the Digital Food Chain Education, Research, Development and Innovation Institute (now Department of Digital Food Ssafety). Since 2025 he is a member of the Department of Food Hygiene.
