The Batthyány Society of Professors latest meeting was held at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest.
In the frame of Dr. Péter Sótonyi rector’s presentation, the participants could get a short overview of the University’s past 230 historical years and the national practice of veterinary training. Followed by the rector’s presentation, Walter Hecker (Kaposvár University) introduced equestrian cultures in global and local context. He claimed that the Hungarian people were indeed equestrian nation and despite the past few decades, still is.
“The Batthyány Society of Professors was founded on the 3rd of June, 1995. Its objective is to provide a framework for the activity of university professors who are strongly committed to traditional European social virtues and are willing to act for a better society. The aim of the Society is to give intellectual stimulation to the Hungarian nation thereby contributing to its spiritual and economic development. The Society seeks long-term solutions to current problems. It holds meetings to discuss questions of both national and international interest, to form the opinion and to publish its conclusions.
