The children of the 5th district kindergarten have visited The Experimental Farm of the University of Veterinary Medicine for the first time. According to the organizer's aim, this experimental visit provided a good opportunity for the children to get closer to nature and animals, breaking out them from their daily routines.
Nearly fifty toddlers have arrived at the Farm where they could meet with the new-born lambs and calves, they could experience the livestock’s everyday lives and they had the chance to take a short ride with the two-new pony, Milka, and Julcsi.
The Experimental Farm of the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest first function is providing practical training and support for educational activities, but the management’s wish is to bring back Dóra Major to life and make the capital of the Hungarian equestrian culture again.
“The conditions were given, the improvement of the farm has started and with similar events, we want to support the birth of the new generation of an equestrian nation.” – noted Anett Sinka, the Farm’s Head of Unit.

The Experimental Farm of the University of Veterinary Medicine, Budapest is located in Dóra major, 34 km from Budapest. It is situated on the edge of the plain of Pest, near the town of Üllő in the township of Vecsés.
The Experimental Farm presents all segments of agriculture, such as livestock (cattle, sheep, horses, and swine), crop and animal feed production, and it also provides practical training for both Hungarian and international students. There are demonstration programmes organized for veterinarians, school children and the general public as well.
