The 9th International Conference of Animal Health Information Specialists

The 9th International Conference of Animal Health Information Specialists was held at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Budapest, Hungary.  The conference brought together animal health information specialists from around the world, to connect in understanding the issues facing them, and to collaborate in creating solutions. Though not very large in numbers, this unique community is a cross-section of the veterinary and animal health information world, and also a gateway to larger institutions of higher education and animal health administration.

The broad conference themes of Connecting, Collaborating and Creating have been intentionally chosen by the International Programme Committee to create an open and welcoming intellectual environment for conference contributions, discussions and sharing with colleagues.

Connecting themed sessions provided opportunities to explore ideas and experiences in connecting with users, technology, disciplines, or entities, the past and present literature (historic collections and archives).

Collaborating themed sessions provided opportunities to explore ideas and experiences about partnerships with veterinary and non-veterinary librarian colleagues, discipline faculty, organizations, institutions, exchange experiences or possibilities, or job shadowing between institutions.

Creating themed sessions provided opportunities for sharing ideas and experiences in developing new resources, web pages, online tutorials, courses and classes outside of and within the curriculum, spaces, makerspaces, new jobs or new positions.
