The memories and traditions always played a decisive role in the history of the Hungarian veterinary community and in the life of the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest. On Heroes’ Day, our celebration is devoted by the Hungarian nation to the memory of our heroes who have passed away.

The Alumni Association of the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest holds a commemoration at the end of May every year on Heroes’ Days in front of the memorials on the walls of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, the Department of Chemistry, and the library.

The members of the community of veterinarians, especially the elderly initiated the institutional commemoration of the victim of World War II., therefore the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest adopted this proposal in order to express the everlasting gratitude the Hungarian nation, to set an example for contemporary and future generations, and to the glory of the heroes.

Every year, the Alumni Association of the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest wreathe the memorial tablets.
