Online UNIVET Job Fair was a great success

In spite of the pandemic situation, it was not subject to question that the IV. Hungarian and International Job Fair would be organized by the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest. The event, which took place entirely online, was attended by domestic and foreign companies, which offered jobs and internship programs for the interested students.

More than 50 Hungarian and 50 foreign students attended the 4th UNIVET Job Fair with the same enthusiasm as in the previous years. Now they could meet through chat rooms and ask their questions to the representatives of the companies that signed up for the event. Among others, Alpha-Vet Kft., Bonafarm Group, Elanco Hungary, Hungarian Equine Rehab and Healthcare Service, Tolnagro Group and Túri Animal Hospital were present, next to the Doctoral School of the university. Among the foreign companies, Lloyd & Cowan and Medivet UK were represented.

In the introductory videos, Dr Tibor Bartha, Vice Rector for International Affairs, Dr Ákos Jerzsele, Vice Rector for Science and Research, Dr Tibor Németh, Vice Rector for Clinical Affairs, and Dr László Ózsvári, Vice Rector for Study affairs, said a few words as an encouragement to the graduating students.

The university offered special programs for the interested students, a presentation was given by Gellért Erdőssy, the founder of CV Shark, who gave tips for writing a percussive resume, and two preparatory videos for an English job interview were shown thanks to the English Institute Language School.

The participants of the event could get a glimpse into the life and operation of the exhibitor companies, got information about their current job offers, as well as useful tips that they can use in their future careers.

The biggest advantage of the annual job fair is that students can get to know the exhibitor companies, talk casually, and openly ask the representatives of the companies about everything they are interested in. This year due to the virus situation, they could do this from home, in a safe way.

Although the event was a great success in the online space, we hope to be able to personalize this experience for the students of the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest again.
