Prof. Dr. Péter Sótonyi has been awarded the honorary doctorate title, Doctor Honoris Causa

On November 23, 2021, a ceremony commemorating the establishment of Óbuda University took place, during which the rector of the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest received an honorary doctorate title.

Since 2010, Óbuda University has awarded honorary doctorate titles to recognize outstanding, internationally recognized scientific work and activities in support of the university. Based on the decision of the Óbuda University Senate, Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, the rector, bestowed the prestigious title upon Prof. Dr. Péter Sótonyi, the rector of the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest.

The laudation was delivered by Prof. Dr. László Gulácsi, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, who highlighted that the award was given in recognition of the recipient’s internationally recognized scientific achievements in the field of anatomy and histology, groundbreaking work in education and scientific organization in Hungary, as well as the significant support provided to Óbuda University during its transition to a new model.
