Records were broken at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest

A record score and a record number of new students at the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest’s entrance exam in 2022! The Hungarian entrance exam cutoff score at this institution, which belongs to the top tier of European veterinary education, was 441 points this year, surpassing all previous records. Moreover, there is a record number of newly admitted students, with more students than ever starting their studies in Hungarian and foreign language programs this autumn.

The number of students admitted to the veterinary program has never been this high before. For the Hungarian-language veterinary program, despite a sixfold oversubscription, 160 students were accepted, and 260 newly admitted students will begin their studies in the English and German language programs this autumn. The exceptional number of first-year students also achieved record scores to enter the university, as the cutoff score for state-funded veterinary education was 441 points this year, surpassing all previous records. However, the new students prepared themselves well for the challenge, as indicated by their average score of 458 points.

“We are talking about one of the most challenging universities. Our institution has always been committed to quality, and earning a diploma here requires hard work. While a physician heals humans, a veterinarian heals humanity because the work of veterinarians extends from animal husbandry to the food on our table,” emphasized Prof. Dr. Sótonyi Péter, the Rector of the Veterinary University.

Congratulation to all newly accepted students! See you in September!
