Dear UNIVET community,

It was with heavy hearts that we shared the news of Marci the cat’s passing a couple of weeks ago. For many years, Marci has been an integral part of our campus, bringing joy and warmth to everyone who crossed paths with him. Sadly, after a long battle with illness, we had to make the difficult decision to let him go peacefully.

Marci’s presence on campus was more than just that of a beloved feline companion. He became a symbol of comfort, resilience, and the interconnectedness of animals and humans. Countless students sought solace in his purrs during stressful exams, and his playful antics brought smiles to the faces of faculty and staff alike.

To honor Marci’s memory and the indelible mark he left on our hearts, we have decided to erect a statue in his likeness at a central location on campus where he always sat. We believe that this tribute will serve as a lasting reminder of the bond between humans and animals, as well as a celebration of the incredible support Marci provided throughout the years.

However, creating such a meaningful tribute requires financial resources (cca 1 million HUF). We kindly ask for your support in making this project a reality. Your generous donations will directly contribute to the creation of the statue, ensuring that Marci’s memory lives on for generations to come.
